AKIRA CHICAGO LAUNCHES ITS NEW FALL LINE, CECE.
Although it may not feel like fall here in Florida, it doesn’t mean that the fashion has to suffer.
FORT MYERS, Fla. (November 22, 2010) – The fall season is here, and so are the many amazing fashions from AKIRA Chicago. There are a ton of new trends coming from the Midwest and around the country for this amazing time of year. So, bring out the boots, scarves, and cute jackets and look fabulously fashionable this fall.
CECE
AKIRA Chicago decided to go a different route with designing their fall line. Starting right after the spring fashion show, owner Erikka Wang, gathered her group of stylists and designers and together they brainstormed something that the Chicagoland area has never seen before. CECE was created under the ideas of what the AKIRA team feels every woman should have. Class, Energy, Charisma, and Endurance. Combined, those four qualities create the epitome of an AKIRA fashionista.
THE THOUGHT BEHIND THE CREATION
AKIRA Chicago sat down as a team for months and began to create the new line to be something completely new, something that nobody had ever seen before. With inspiration from this line, the fall fashion show would be created. Researching for weeks upon months, the team discovered the newest trends in fashion out of the larger, most world renowned fashion houses all around the world. From those findings, AKIRA’s spin on the styles kept up with the trend, yet gave them AKIRA owns creative twist.
WHATS BACK, WHATS NEW, WHATS IN
Military styles are all the rage right now, and have made a huge comeback. Anything from minute details on jackets, pants and shoes, to the dark colors of the jungle or forest, AKIRA inspired many items to give the feel and edge that military styles present. On the complete contrary to the harshness of the military styles, a somewhat ethereal feel has made its way onto the fashion scene. Soft colors, soft textures, and feminine styles have been revamped into a more trendy and fashionable statement. Pairing a soft, lace tank, with skinny jeans and combat boot are perfect for the fall. Add a simple chunky scarf or a fitted blazer and you will be the talk of the town. Along with this fall season being all about colors and textures, it is most definitely about fur! Fur boots, jackets, scarves, and even tops are all the rage and have been seen of all the runways from Chanel to Proenza Schouler. AKIRA has taken the classiness of Chanel and the edge of Proenza to create a perfect fit in fashion for the woman all around the Midwest and even the nation.
THE FALL FASHION SHOW, FOLKLORIQUE
In late September of this year, months of hard work and struggle came together for the most anticipated fashion event of the season. AKIRA is known throughout the Chicago area for being
in the forefront of fashion and their fashion shows are the events to be at. In partnership with designs from Dumond, Sam Edelman, Hudson Jeans, and many more, AKRIA welcomed guests to Galleria Marchetti for this amazing event. With performances by aerial dancers and members of the Chicago Cultural Alliance, AKIRA Chicago gave the event a perfect feel bringing guests back to the folktales of yesteryear, and bringing out everyone’s inner fairytales. Four runs on the runway with 12 models showcases every piece and every detail that Erikka Wang and the team strived to create for months and months. Creative Director for AKIRA, Chris Ho, was absolutely enthralled by the entire event and saw it as a huge success. “We at AKIRA try to outdo ourselves every season. But this show is especially close to my heart, because everything you saw on this runway, came straight from the imaginations of so many talented people. Without their creative thinking and amazing talent, this would have never happened. I couldn’t be any happier. My fairytale has become a reality here tonight.”
FOLKLORIQUE had the greatest turn out and the greatest sales of any of the hundreds of shows that AKIRA has put on since their opening in 2004. It created a new sense of style for so many women, and created something that it all their own.
This season is all about a little bit of Class, Edge, Charisma, and Endurance. With all those combined, every fabulous fashionista can look like a million bucks, and truly be the perfect AKIRA stylista.
